img_0003“When I started Crossfit, I had 2 goals – run a 10K and wear a bikini.  Within 1 month, I ran the 10K, and within 2 months, I was in a bikini.  Justin is the constant motivator, and when you think you can’t go any further or faster, he lets you know that you can and you will.  Without Justin’s can-do attitude, I would have given up on my goals as quickly as I made them.  Crossfit workouts are so challenging and so exciting, and Justin’s positive attitude is so contagious, I have to keep going back!  I definitely recommend Crossfit to anyone who is really ready to make a change in to his or her overall well being!”

img_0005I was always an athletic person throughout high school and college.  However, I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and my life, not surprisingly, changed quite a bit.  The most noticeable changes I saw was that due to the treatments and the medications including steroids, I had lost a tremendous amount of energy, I had gained a large amount of weight (my weight reached 196lbs), and I started to not feel myself anymore.

A good friend of mine encouraged me to try Crossfit:Scars about a month and a half ago.  I figured that there was no way I could do the workouts that were involved.  But instead of listening to my own self-doubt, I listened to Tullie and Justin, and I’m definitely hooked.  I have since lost 24lbs., my energy is up, and I’ve never felt better.

The workouts are intense, but they should be.  Justin’s there to encourage you to push past what you think your limits are because only then can you reach your own goals.  With his encouragement and your own personal will to make a better “you”, it’s all possible.  I can’t thank Justin and Crossfit enough for my transformation.”

img_01511“This program has truly changed my life.  I don’t know the exact amount of weight that I have lost that is due to CrossFit, but since I started working our on a disciplined basis (Cross Fit & Tae Kwon Do included), I have lost about 30 pounds.  I now weigh about 10 pounds less than when I graduated from college in 1988.   I have gone from a 40 inch waist to a 36 inch waste and have had to purchase a bunch of new suits for work.  In general, I feel a whole lot better, I have more energy, and I do feel stronger and more flexible.  I would also say that I have a lot more personal confidence as a result of all of these changes.

What I like most about this program is that it is diverse and I always seem to get crushed at each workout as no two workouts are exactly the same. Some workouts really crush me like 5 days of soreness, but I absolutely love it.  Some days I leave the workout feeling like I really knocked it out of the park and then some days, like today, I leave humbled because it knocked me out of the park.  I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to totally change their life.”

img_0314Justin, Ive been meaning to let you know how much I have benefited from my CrossFit addiction. I was for years your typical Big Box Gym on and off again participant, mostly due to lack of results and repetitive boredom. In the short time I have been attending your “punishment sessions” I have seen more results than I ever did with my typical mindless workouts at the corner social hour. To date I truly believe my greatest gain with the CrossFit system has been my endurance and stamina. Tracy and I actually ran the 5k course at Spain Park, which is a pretty tough competitive layout, and not once did I feel the need to let up nor did I feel winded. I attribute this directly with my training with you and the gang at CrossFitScars. I look forward to more positive results and gains within our workouts.”

img_0037“Now I cannot wait to get to my next workout session. I’ve lost over one third of the weight that I want to lose and many inches, but what I’ve gained is what I’m most proud of. I cannot tell you what it feels like to be stronger and healthier and have such a desire to keep doing this. The feeling of accomplishment when I complete a workout is something I haven’t been able to feel in a long, long time. I’m doing this for me!”

CrossFit Scars is not your average exercise class.  Bring your game face! It has literally changed my entire approach to fitness and what it means to commit to a healthy lifestyle.  After two months, my body has changed in a way that I did not think was possible at age 42.  CrossFit Scars is my “Fountain of Youth”.

img_0417“I just wanted to say thanks for ALL your encouragement.  I am told that a stick of dynamite would have to be used to get me to have any kind of reaction, and I guess its true.  I am truly grateful for everything.  I am making small but consistent (I hope) progress.  I have dropped 3 sizes and tried on a size I have not been able to look at in 10 years and got into it.  I think the security was called at Kohl’s from my screech. I didn’t stick around to find out:)  A few folks at my office have started to imitate what I eat and tell me they are trying to change.  They glaze over when I try to explain the portions and blocks and throw up all kinds of arguments but proof is in the pudding.  The workouts  scare them but they know when I have done them. Wonder why:)  I even have a weightlifter comparing notes – he walked away when I told him about “Diane” – chicken!  Thanks again and see you soon.”
